New Leadership at MAC USP
The modern and contemporary art museum MAC USP posted on Instagram: “MAC USP will have a new board effective July 14. The new principal, José Tavares Correia de Lira (FAU USP Associate Professor) and vice principal, Esther Império Hamburger (ECA USP Associate Professor), have been elected for management 2024-2028.”
Art Basel Miami Beach Goes Brazilian
The Miami edition of the Art Basel fair announced its exhibitors for 2024 and I counted at least thirteen Brazilian galleries among its number. The full list is here.
Artur Barrio Joins Baró Galeria
Maria Baró’s gallery, once located in São Paulo and now in Mallorca, Spain, reports the representation of Portuguese-Brazilian artist Artur Barrio. “Known for his radical and innovative practice,” the gallery writes, “Barrio has consistently pushed the boundaries of artistic expression through his provocative and immersive works, challenging and often rejecting standardized artistic languages.” More here.
